They understand that at this time we cannot commit but are asking to let them know by January 1 of 2005 or 2006. Cris explained that we had sent out RFPs for the building and that we needed to get back to the Town by January 31 with proposals. The Selectmen promised to keep the School District informed. The public hearing in accordance with Chapter 138 of the MGL, requesting a Transfer of License from Fitzpatrick Retail & Realty Company, Inc. doing business as Elm Street Market, 4 Elm Street, Stockbridge, MA 01262 to Roaring, LLC doing business as Elm Street Market, 4 Elm Street, Stockbridge, MA 01262 was opened. The request does not change the manager or ownership just in the name of the holding company. The premise consists of a single story building with first floor selling area, small back room for storage and limited cellar storage. Front door access and egress on east side, also exit on southwest corner of building. A motion to approve the transfer was made by George. A second was received from Deb. The vote was unanimous. George made a motion to appoint Thomas Race of Lukeman Lane as the Alternate Building Inspector. A second was received from Deb. The vote was unanimous. Cris commented that the Town looked very busy and showed well over the 4th holiday weekend. Deb asked that property owners who have shrubbery out near the sidewalks to please trim them so that people walking will not run into them. George commented on the "bear season", and residents need to remember to bring in your bird feeders and don't leave your garbage outside. Also announced was that the Selectmen will hold the Second Homeowners Meeting on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church. With no other business, George made a motion to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. A second was received from Deb. The vote to adjourn was unanimous. A true copy, ATTEST: July 10, 2004 The Second Home Owners meeting took place at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church. Approximately fifty people attended from both sides of the lake area, Church, Main Street and Lee Road. Compliments were made by the property owners regarding the new sewers. The contractors and town employees worked very hard to bring everything back to order in their area. Questions asked were the usual about the bears, when the compactor will be open on Sunday, and the weeds. Of real concern was the weed problem behind the island and into the cove. It was explained that DEP will not let harvesting of the weeds in that area at this time. Gary Kleinerman stated that the Stockbridge Bowl Association is planning on hiring an environmental lawyer to help with this problem. The Selectmen also stated that they have spoken with our state representatives to see if they might be able to help us. Jorja was unable to be present Chairman Irsfeld convened the meeting. Cris said that Stockbridge has 5 spots on the CTSB Advisory Board. Presently, only 1 is filled and he asked the TV audience for volunteers to fill the four positions. A thank you was exclaimed by the Board to Kripalu Center for their $5,000 check, a donation in lieu of taxes. William Vogt, 7 Interlaken Road and Marc Volk, Foresight Engineering appeared before the board for a review of an application with the Planning Board under the Lake and Pond Overlay. A garage/studio and covered walkway and a replacement of the existing deck with an enclosed addition would be the project. The Conservation Commission has issued an Order of Conditions. of particular note is that the Vogts' are granting an approximate 2 acre conservation easement. A motion was made by George, seconded by Deb to recommend to the Planning Board approving the Vogt's application for Lake and Pond Overlay Special Permit under 6.5 of the Zoning Bylaws. The vote was unanimous. James T. B. Post, 1 Christian Hill Road would like to use one downstairs room as a hair salon. Mr. Post has applied for a special permit with the Planning Board under section 6.19.4, Type 11. A motion to recommend approval to the Planning Board was made by Deb. A second was received from George. The vote was unanimous. With no other business, Deb made a motion to adjourn at 7:45 p.m. and a second was received from George. The vote to adjourn was unanimous. Jorja was unable to attend The Stockbridge Plain School Task Force met to review the architectural and marketing firms who have answered the RFP. The committee decided to interview the following architect firms: Caolo & Bieniek Associates, Inc., Alderman & MacNeish and Hill Engineering. The marketing firms to be interviewed are RKG Associates, Inc. and Bay Area Economics. It was decided that the marketing interviews will be held on Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m. The architectural firms will be interviewed on Thursday, August 5 beginning a 6:00p.m. A true copy, ATTEST: July 28, 2004 Present: Plain School Task Force The Plain School Task Force met and interviewed RKG Associates, Inc. and Bay Area Economics.
