Record, Michael Abdalla-Michael’s Restaurant, Camera people from CTSB and Jorja Marsden Michael Blay, Assistant Assessor, representing the Board of Assessors came for the Classification Hearing. The Board of Assessors recommended a residential factor of one with one tax rate for residential and commercial properties. Deb moved to have one tax rate. George seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. Michael Abdalla of Michael’s Restaurant came before the Board regarding a possibility of putting a door off the rear of the restaurant toward the Laundry with a canopy so that the clientele could go outside and smoke. Of concern was the Smoking Regulations through the Board of Health. Peter Kolodziej, Tri-Town Sanitarian faxed a response to the Selectmen just before the meeting. He does not support such a proposal and he believed that approval of such a structure for smoking purposes would create problems. As far as serving liquor on the patio, we will look into how to change the premises on the liquor license. Bids had been opened on September 23rd for the controlled tree cutting of the watershed. The following bids were received: Lenox Lumber -$15,903.00, Bannish Lumber-$11,487.60, Berk. Hardwood-$13,946.00, Great Brook Lumber-$15,150.11, and Berlin Lumber-$9,120.00. Mr. Jeff Jourdain, Forester, our consultant, recommended that we accept the bid of Lenox Lumber. A motion to accept Lenox Lumber’s bid of $15,903.00 was made by George. A second was received from Deb. The vote was unanimous to accept Lenox Lumber’s bid of $15, 903.00. Trick or Treat will be October 31, 2003 from 5 to 7 and the annual Halloween Parade will begin at 6 at the corner of Main and Pine Streets. Also announced was the Antique Fire Show at the Stockbridge Train Station on Sunday, October 12 from 11 until 4. Twenty to thirty hand drawn, horse drawn and motorized antique fire apparatus will be on display. The association will serve refreshment and the scenic train will be running. The Selectmen will hold their November 3 meeting at Heaton Court. Each year in the fall a Selectmen’s meeting has been scheduled at Heaton Court.
