Record, David Lane, Norman McLeod, David Stroud, James Balfanz-all members of CTSB, Architect Pam Sandler-Rota, Marshall White-White Engineering, Attorney Philip Heller, Andrew Warheit and Jorja Marsden CTSB Station President James Balfanz came before the Selectmen to introduce the new Executive Director Norman McLeod to the Town. Jim was joined by David Lane past five year president and now treasurer, and David Stroud a board member from Lenox and Community Recourse for CTSB. It was announced that beginning October 27, 2003, CTSB will have three stations each one for different purposes – public, education and government. Cris opened the special permit for Andrew and Lynn Warheit, 16 Grove Road, which was submitted by Attorney Philip Heller, to reconstruct a dwelling by demolishing the dwelling and constructing a new dwelling in the same location with the same setback. The new dwelling will contain three bedrooms and two and one-half baths, will be 30 feet height, an eight-foot increase in height. The property is in an R-2 zone. Application is made under 6.1.2. Attorney Heller explained that the present dwelling is only 22 feet high, and that the new dwelling will be increased by 8 feet, making the height of new dwelling 30 feet. The ratio of combined floor area of the building on the lot will decrease from the existing dwelling of 21.9% to 20% . The existing building is not salvageable. Architect Pam Sandler-Rota stated that the new building construction would be a bungalow style with wood siding so that the new building would blend into the wooded area. Marshall White reviewed the environmental impact of the project as approval has been received from the Conservation Commission. George made a motion to recommend approval of this application under the Lake and Pond Overlay. A second was made by Deb. The vote to recommend approval to the Planning Board was unanimous. George made another motion to continue this public hearing until September 22, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at the Stockbridge Sportsmen’s Club, prior to our Special Town Meeting. The Selectmen voted to enter into an Interim Loan Agreement at .45% and authorized Karen Williams, Treasurer and/or J. Cristopher Irsfeld, to sign necessary documents. The Selectmen signed the project regulatory agreement PRA No. CW-02-30B Stockbridge-Wastewater Treatment Facility and Sewer Improvement (Department of Environmental Protection Clean Water State Revolving Fund Program Project Regulatory Agreement). A copy of the full agreement can be found under contracts in the filing cabinet in the Selectmen’s Office. Cris read a letter written to Pfc. Denise Steven, a member of the 3rd Infantry Division, who lives in Stockbridge and is returning from the Iraqi War. The letter stated how proud we are of her and thrilled that she is a resident of Stockbridge. A reminder was given that the last day to register for the upcoming Special Town Meeting is Friday, September 12, from 9 until 8. The Special Town Meeting will take place at the Stockbridge Sportsmen’s Club at 6:30 on Monday, September 22, 2003. Discussion followed regarding Elm and Maple Streets. Traffic uses Maple Street to cut off the Red Lion Inn Corner, and then travels north on to Elm Street at high rates of speed. The Selectmen, along with the Chief of Police, feel that something has to be done. An option would be to make Maple Street one way exiting onto South Street but leaving Elm Street a two way street. This would avoid the short cut and possible speeding on Elm Street. There have been many just misses. Everyone is asked to help, if anyone has a solution please speak to the Selectmen or call Town Hall. A future meeting will be held regarding this item. George made a motion to adjourn at 7:45 p.m. A second was received from Deb. The vote to adjourn was unanimous. A true copy, ATTEST:
