January 17, 2006 Present: Deb McMenamy, Cris Irsfeld, George Shippey, John Coster, Frances Antoniazzi, Shirley Miller, Marilyn Nejaime, Linda Jackson, Derek Gentile-Berkshire Eagle, Dick Lindsey-WSBS, Jeremy Goodwin-Berkshire Record, Ken Jodrie-Archtiect, Joe Kellogg-Owner’s Project Manager and Jorja Marsden A public hearing was held in the Selectmen’s office to show the Town’s people a design for the Plain School’s floor plan for the Town Offices and Police Station. Ken Jodrie, Architect from Caolo and Bienek Architect firm from Chicopee has drawn up plans that would have the Town Offices on the first floor, the Police Station in the wing. An entrance with an elevator will be placed off the parking lot. The elevator would go from the ground floor to the second floor. A place will be made for a Senior Center in the basement, the gym will stay for public use. The part time Boards will share office space and all the other positions will have their own office space. The kitchen will remain for use by the Senior Center and Emergency Management. The second floor and part of the basement level will be rentable space. Parking will remain to the rear, however a few parking places may be created to the left as you enter the property so as to focus some people to come into the building through the front door. Joe Kellogg announced that it is hoped that the bid package will be completed in February and the bids opened in March so that a Special Town Meeting could be held in late March regarding funding for the project.
