Styka, Lisa Boyd, and Jorja Marsden Donna Moyer, Superintendent of the Berkshire Hills Regional School District, came to introduce herself. Donna stated that she has been visiting each school, where she has helped serve lunch etc. just working with the troops to get a feel of the workings of the different schools. She also stated that within a few weeks the school committee and she will be hosting an open meeting with the Towns to discuss the sensitive needs of the Towns and of the school district. Jack Spencer, Chairman of Plain School Reuse Committee, complimented his committee. The group was very open minded as to what possible uses could be developed for a use of the Plain School in early 2005 when the new elementary school is built. A survey was done by the committee which resulted in a tremendous response. A lot would like it on the tax role, equal or larger would like it in the Town hands. It was thought by the committee that the next step would be to seek professional help. Members of the Mohawk Brook Preserve which was formed to oppose the Stone Ridge – Bernstein Subdivision off of Dugway Road came to the meeting. The Selectmen stated that they are behind the Planning Board. Cris also stated that in the course of any litigation it behooves the Town to have informal discussions. The group was pleased to hear that the Board was behind the Planning Board. A letter from Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions was read by Deb. The letter stated that George Shippey successfully completed MACC’s Fundamentals for Conservation Commissioners training course and received a Certificate of Achievement. Also announced was the contribution of $838.88 from the Stockbridge Housing Authority in lieu of taxes for fiscal year 2003. Deb made a motion to adjourn. George seconded the motion.
