MINUTES

Present:  Chairman, Doug Rose, Barbara Cohen Hobbs, Gary Pitney, Eric Plakun, Paul Coates, and Eugene Talbot

Absent: Robert Bartle

Member Rose made a motion to approve the minutes of December 12, 2006 with one amendment.  Member Hobbs seconded this motion and it was unanimously approved, 6-0.

Susan Long is seeking approval of a sign permit for a freestanding sign for a Massage Therapy Practice.  The property is located at 1 Maple Avenue in the Business Zoning District.  Currently there are multiple business uses on the property.  Previously there was a business in the proposed location with a freestanding sign that will be removed.  The proposed 4 sq.ft. freestanding sign will replace the existing freestanding sign.  

Member Rose stated that under Section 6.8.3d3 they are allowed one sign for each establishment, not exceeding four (4) square feet in area on a  multiple business use lot.  

Member Plakun made a motion to recommend to the Board of Selectmen that on review of the application that depicts a sign that is approximately 4 sq.ft., it seems to be well within the requirements of the bylaw under Section 6.8.3d3.  The Board however didn't receive a plot plan showing the location of all signs.  Member Hobbs seconded this motion and it was unanimously approved, 6-0.

Member Hobbs made a motion to adjourn this meeting at 7:50 P.M.  Member Pitney seconded this motion and it was unanimously approved, 6-0.
