The first of these was a copy of a letter of May 19 to Mr. Shubin from Chris Porter of C. R. Porter Builders, Inc. stating that “…we are ready to obtain the necessary permits and correct the deck…” The other letter was to our board from Matthew Shubin. It states that “…we are withdrawing the appeal.” It was moved, seconded, and voted to accept the withdrawal of the appeal. Mr. Baldwin presented a photograph of the deck taken in last winter. Visible in the picture is a red Stop Work sign, affixed to a tree in the foreground. To provide the Building Inspector with the strongest possible position in dealing with the builder, the board moved, seconded and voted to not grant the variance that had been requested.
