Town of Stockbridge Sewer and Water Commission Minutes of Meeting – May 3, 2005 Members Present: Donald Schneyer, Thomas Schuler, Peter Socha Others Present: Anthony Campetti, Sewer Supt., Michael Buffoni, Water Supt. Joseph Kellogg, Sewer Consultant, Denise Schneyer, Secretary Call Meeting to Order/Adopt Minutes – The Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:40 p.m. Member Socha made a motion to adopt the Minutes as presented, seconded by member Schuler and all voted in favor. Sewer Project Update – A. Campetti reported that Ludlow Construction is finished drilling and blasting on Goodrich St. and continuing toward Cherry Hill Rd. with blasting through the end of the week. Pre-blast surveys are being given out for Christian Hill Rd. area of Town. The lift station submittals have all been finalized. Ludlow will do a couple knobs of ledge on Goodrich St. today and have installed two links of pipe and will get closer to the southern end of Goodrich St. They will start restoring Goodrich St. and hope to finish it by the end of May. Maxymillian did some spot top soiling, seeding and haying on Monday and hope to have the project paved by next Friday. They have restored the sidewalk on Goodrich St. where the oil tank was removed. There are still a few punch list items that need to be done and Paul Scarpa will contact David Smith of Maxymillian to address them. One of the items is that the electrical usage at the WWTP is up by approximately $2,000. Issue of Sewer Hook-Up on Cherry Hill Rd. – The Chairman reported of a telephone call he received from Cherry Hill Rd. resident Salee Smith who is in the process of selling her home. She is opting not to hook up to the Town’s sewer and the Chairman told her that she would have to prove that she can pass Title 5. Vacant Lot Sewer Stubs – The Chairman indicated that the Bertha Skevington lot on Goodrich St. is in the process of being sold and divided into two lots. Two stubs will be put in at that property as well as a few others in town. Update on Mahkeenac Area Connections – A. Campetti gave the Commissioners a copy of the sewer connection system update which shows how much revenue we have taken is and approximately how many people have hooked up. Ledge Removal Update – A. Campetti reported that he spoke with Paul Scarpa who indicated that Joe Pio of Ludlow Construction should have done a rock profile. Update on Peggy’s Brook Crossing – The Chairman reported that as of last Wednesday, the Commission went with the original plan for the crossing and are waiting for a submittal. Directional Drilling on Route 7 – Ludlow will do directional drilling with a sleeve on it on Route 7. Richard Rothbard’s Application Received – Mr. Rothbard’s sewer hook-up application has been received but he has not gotten the necessary easements. Member Schuler made a motion that the hook-up fee be waived. Member Socha seconded the motion and all voted in favor. Echo Lake Logging – M. Buffoni reported that is still too wet to do any logging. He and Jeff Jourdain walked up there and there is one stream crossing and he will probably have to file a Notice of Intent with the Conservation Commission. He will contact Con Com member Don Deno for direction. J. Jourdain will start marking another cut and he will have to file for another extension. Follow-up Letter re. Deadline for Price Cost of Grinder Pumps – J. Kellogg reported that he called F.R.Mahoney and left a message requesting they extend the deadline for the cost of the pumps to Sept.1. Park St. Infiltration Flow Influence – A. Campetti reported that there was an area of sewer there that is of concern and leaking. There is 150 ft. of line that needs to be replaced. Clinton Schneyer suggested that we could replace the service and probably realign the pipe. With no further business, the Commission adjourned at 5:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Denise A.
