FINANCE COMMITTEE – TOWN OF STOCKBRIDGE
MONDAY, November 15, at 7:00 PM

Minutes of previous meeting  -  October 18, 2004 – approved as presented

Emergency Fire Department Request – Chief Peyron appeared to request a transfer of approximately $15,000 from the Reserve Account to replace some 2,500 feet of hose on the Interlaken truck recently found to be rotted.  Committee recommended Chief Peyron purchase the hose and voted to approve an emergency transfer request in the final invoiced amount when purchase approved by the Selectmen. 

Update on Town Capital Spending Projections – deferred pending clarification of Town Offices/Town Hall situation and projected costs.

Budget Preparation Process
·	Proposed Schedule  - approved as drafted
·	Draft Departmental Memorandum  - approved for distribution jointly by Committee and Selectmen. 
·	Salary Adjustments – approved as in draft memorandum. One previously agreed exception noted.
·	Warrant Items – requested from all Departments per draft memorandum.
·	Capital Spending Projects – discouraged except for Town Hall/Town Offices

Old Business – JJR presented an update on the DiSisto/Grove School property sale. – Apparently headed for satisfactory conclusion in January or earlier.

New Business – Committee expressed a wish to have an update on Sewer Expansion with particular emphasis on connection fee estimates and timing and any further impact on sewer and water fees. JJR to ask W&S Commission.

Committee expressed an interest in learning of any early indications of cost of health care insurance premiums. JJR to ask Selectmen.

Meeting Dates  -  next meeting set for Monday, December 6, at 7:00PM at Town Hall.
