FINANCE COMMITTEE – TOWN OF STOCKBRIDGE

Meeting of Monday, December 6, 2004

Minutes of previous meeting  -  November 15, 2004 - Approved

Transfer Request from Reserve Fund in the amount of $14,182.00 to replace damaged fire hose was approved, leaving a balance of $35,815.00 in the Reserve Fund

Budget Preparation Process 
JJR reported that the Selectmen/Finance Committee memo requesting draft 2006FY budgets had been sent to dept. heads and committee chairs as drafted and that is was expected that combined budget review meetings would begin shortly after the January 10 meeting. He also reported that the Town would not receive FY06 health care insurance cost projections until February at the earliest. (per Jorja)

Sewer Project status and connection fee projections
JJR reported that according to Don Schneyer connection requests in the Mackeenac area are being processed and approved on a regular basis (do not require meetings of the Sewer Commission). Construction work closing down for the winter - well on schedule. Some difficulties with ledge in Glendale (Christian Hill) and Goodrich Street, but Ludlow Constr. bears the financial burden per contract.
 
Old Business – School re-use  - No new developments. Selectmen are working with a new architectural firm to secure cost estimates and marketing proposals for the building. Original deed provisions were discussed. Selectmen hope to have workable estimates in time for the Special Town Meeting , Jan.24 @ 6:30PM @ Stockbridge Sportsmens Club.

New Business – Stockbridge Bowl Association request (see letter). The committee voted 6/0 not to recommend a $25,000 article on the Town Meeting warrant to the Selectmen.

Susan Klebl submitted her resignation from the Committee with immediate effect because of her imminent move to the West Coast. Accepted with regret and with unanimous expression of thanks for her services to the Committee and Town.
