FINANCE COMMITTEE – TOWN OF STOCKBRIDGE

MEETING Monday, April 11 at 7:00 PM

MINUTES

ATTENDING: Berger, Bertocci, McMenamy, Morse, Murray, Rousseau, Schneyer


1.	Minutes of previous meeting  -  March 24, 2005 - approved

2.	Budget Preparation Process – Review and Vote on Expenditure Recommendations:
a.	All article 5 items approved 7-0
b.	Warrant articles 6, 7, 9 through 21, 23, 24, 25 and 28 approved 7-0
c.	Article 8 not recommended 7-0

3.	Recommend transfer from Free Cash to reduce FY 2006 Tax Rate
a.	Article 31 – voted 7-0 to recommend $750,000 be appropriated from Free Cash to lower the tax rate

4.	Review Proposed $50,000 appropriation to review/revise Town By-Laws Article 27 deferred for further review

5.	Old Business – Budget item queries:
 “RMV non renewals”  amount assessed by state to reimburse license marking fees collected by Town (offset by equal Town  receipts)
“STRAP Repayments” – payments to reimburse State for (much) earlier Small Town Road Assistance Program (STRAP) Grants
Mosquito Control – Town payment share for participation (voluntary) in State abatement program (provides general Town participation and ancillary benefits to requesting residents)
