Applicants are limited to Stockbridge artists and organizations that serve the residents of the Stockbridge community. Individuals and organizations wishing to apply have until Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 to submit applications for either general funding or for PASS funding. PASS is a program designed to send local students (kindergarten through grade 12) to performances, museums and other cultural events outside of school. State guidelines maintain the applicant must have been engaged in the kind of activity for which they are applying for at least one year. The Local Cultural Council Program, of which the Stockbridge Cultural Council is a part, is a grant program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), a state agency. The MCC provides allocations to each of Massachusetts' 351 cities and towns to support cultural activities. This is the largest program of its kind in the United States. Detailed guidelines and applications for both PASS and regular funds are available at the Stockbridge Library in Stockbridge, MA and the Stockbridge Selectman's office at Town Hall. Applications are also available by visiting the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s website at [ http://www.massculturalcouncil.org/ ]www.massculturalcouncil.org.
